Mid-year is a strategic sweet spot.

Halfway. Can you believe it?
June marks the midpoint of the year—a natural pause in the rhythm of business. It's a moment to take a breath, step back, and assess. What’s working? What’s dragging? What have you accomplished that deserves real recognition (even if you didn’t pop a confetti cannon for it at the time)?
Too often, we’re heads-down, grinding toward goals we set in January without stopping to ask: Are these still the right goals? Is the strategy holding up? Are we moving with intention—or just reacting?
Start with the Wins
Start by giving yourself credit. Seriously. List what’s gone well so far—big moves, small wins, solved problems, avoided disasters. If you’re leading a team, invite them into this reflection too. You might be surprised by what surfaces.
This isn’t just a feel-good exercise—it’s fuel. Recognizing progress renews focus and builds the kind of momentum that actually lasts.
Face What’s Not Working (Without the Guilt Spiral)
There’s always something that didn’t go as planned—maybe a campaign flopped, sales were slower than projected, or a project stalled out. Personal shit also happens (that’s what happened to me in May!). That’s normal. It is not a moral failing. Treat it like data.
What didn’t work—and why?
What did we learn?
What’s worth fixing, and what’s better left behind?
Mid-year is a strategic sweet spot. You still have time to modify, to test a new approach, to make meaningful progress. Don’t waste energy beating yourself up. Use that energy to make decisions.
Refocus Your Energy
June is a great time to reconnect with your original goals—or redefine them entirely. The market may have shifted. Your customers’ needs may have evolved. Maybe you have, too.
What do we really want to achieve in the next six months?
What would meaningful progress look like by December?
What do we need to stop, start, or strengthen to get there?
Even a few small shifts in focus or resources can create powerful ripple effects.
Keep the Momentum Real
You don’t need a rebrand, a retreat, or a revolutionary plan to build momentum. What you do need is clarity, consistency, and a little courage. Momentum isn’t a high-speed sprint—it’s steady forward movement, built day by day.
So, whether you’re cruising, crawling, or somewhere in between right now, take the pause. And then get moving again—smarter, stronger, and more aligned than before.
Need a thinking partner as you regroup for the second half? I’ve got space for a few strategy sessions this month—hit reply or book a time and let’s talk.
